Doppelganger

Writing to my self so you can see

Transcendence sounds like a religious word but I think as a concept it can be achieved by those of us whom others believe are on a fast track to hell.  I've always liked to draw and look at vulgar and grotesque subjects having to do with sex and death, pain and suffering because the emotional shock value of those things are usually more stimulating than more respectable subjects like reality shows and C-Span.  Dostoyevsky, Bukowski, Sonic Youth, Nivana, Radiohead, Beethoven, Mozart, Janececk, Francis Bacon, Salvadore Dali and everyone else in my life have taught me that humanity is at its root vulgar.  And I think that's beautiful.
